The Tiny Mural Project
Starting in late 2025, local artists and art students began painting tiny murals in and around businesses in Mount Carmel’s Market Street district. These little paintings range in size from a few inches to a few feet and are placed in clever spots in Market Street shops. Can you find them all??

We are so grateful to the local and visiting artists who’ve added some tiny art to walls around town (Angie Wright, Paige Keneipp, Elias Reynolds, and Coleman Stevenson). A HUGE thank you to our volunteer student artists and their teachers from Mount Carmel High School (Colbie and Lana Heinrich, Miley Kennard, Tiffany Leffleur, Cloia Richardson; teacher Laurel Thomas) and Ambassador Christian Academy (Ashleigh, Juliana, Lylian, and the two classes who helped come up with design ideas and sketches; teacher Caitlin Jones) for the many hours they’ve spent making this project come to life.

Miley (2026 grad)
Why do you like making art? Because I love bringing my ideas to life.
What are your favorite materials to work with? Clay, paint, pencils, paper, cardboard.
What do you love about Mount Carmel? The art classes.
Cloia (2026 grad)
What are your favorite materials to work with? I switch up a lot and enjoy most mediums; my most used are drawing and painting but I can usually learn others pretty fast.
What is your plan after graduation? I plan to pursue an art related career if possible.
Lana (2027 grad)
Why do you like making art? Because it brings me peace and serenity. I love the different perspectives that a person can view any form of art. Of all my years doing art, my knowledge keeps growing and I hit the realization that the more professional you get at something, the more you realize how little you know of it. Over my mistakes and accomplishments, I still learn, I create, fix, practice, and I move on to the next best thing even if it takes me forever.
What are your favorite materials to work with? My favorite materials to work with are acrylics. Although they are quick to dry, their ability to create textures and overlap work well with me. I also love the vibrancy in acrylic paints!
What do you love about Mount Carmel? The thing I love about my little town is getting involved in the community. Just like when I joined Community Arts, painting murals for our town is a pleasure to do with other students and friends! In school, it has been a pure joy to experience band competitions, choir ensembles, musicals, art shows, and student council. Outside of school, I love the connection between my church and people around me. I love my fun, wise and loving family and my close friends that have stuck with me through thick or thin ever since I moved here!
What is your plan after graduation? I plan on pursuing my art talent/dream by going to WVC to get my associates degree then transfer to a university to become an art teacher. I want to do this because I believe there are other students in need of digging deep into themselves (looking through the mirror) and showing their true colors and skills. I want to help people bring out their creativeness and understand how vast art can truly be.

Why do you like making art? It feels good for my soul. Creating is good for your brain.
What are your favorite materials to work with? Pencil, pen, or paint, and paper.
What do you love about Mount Carmel? Thrift stores!

Why do you like making art? It's fun, and I enjoy expressing myself.
What are your favorite materials to work with? Paint and pencils.
What do you love about Mount Carmel? I grew up here and love the little shops.
Ashleigh (2026 grad)
Why do you like making art? I've been doing it all my life and love the satisfaction that comes from creating something.
What are your favorite materials to work with? Digital art.
What do you love about Mount Carmel? My Christian school and Milk and Honey.
